Mathematics Education MA

The aim of the program is to enable teachers eligable to become elementary mathematics teachers, to gain the ability to reach information through scientific research and to evaluate and interpret that information. The vision of the program is to become a qualified strong research and education institution in the mathematics education field both nationally and internationally to set good examples for society with teachers who have modern insight, to become a pioneer in the establishment of modern mathematics education conception and to contribute increase in the number of mathematics literature in the society. The mission of the program is to train academics and teachers who follow and apply national and international literature in the field of mathematics education appropriate to the nature and structure of mathematics. Applicants who apply to the program are chosen according to 50% of their ALES score and 50% of Cumulative GPA. The number of candidates up to the quota is announced on the website of the Institute for final registration. If the quota has not been filled by the main candidates on the date announced, registrations are made from waiting list according to the order.

M.S. with thesis in Mathematics Education aims at training science experts who have knowledge, skills and competence in basic concepts and new approaches related to mathematics education, who think critically, work as a team, and know how to access, produce and use information, who have characteristics of creativity and innovation and who are responsible in professional and ethical issues. It also aims at providing necessary human resources, environment, and teaching and learning processes to benefit the society.
